“As for those who repent, believe, and do good deeds, they are the ones whose evil deeds Allah will change into good deeds. For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
Quran 25:70
TLDR
Short answer: God’s mercy.
Long answer: Reaching that mercy through faith, then showing the outcome of that faith through proper behavior and actions.
It’s all about the right question
The two possible theories:
1- Our creation has a purpose, and if we recognize that purpose, we automatically recognize that fulfilling that goal is our way to the creator’s grace.
2- There is no reason behind our creation.
In Islam, the answer to both theories is straightforward: God created us for a reason: to worship him and him alone.
“Did you then think that We had created you without purpose and that you would never be returned to Us?”
Quran 23:115
“I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me.”
Quran 51:56
Faith
Accepting God means more than an idea in your mind or an emotional state; faith alone isn’t enough if your life is filled with injustice, harm, or disobedience. If believing in God doesn’t stop you from lying, stealing, or cheating, and you don’t repent or correct your actions, God’s justice will take its course and ensure everyone is held accountable for their actions; you’ll face the consequences for your sins and only enter paradise after being purified.
Accountability is a consistent parallel law to his mercy in all God’s revelations, from the first messenger, Adam, through Abraham Mosses and Jesus, to the last one, Mohamed (peace be upon all of them); Allah reveals to us how worshipping him (in the way he commands) is the way to salvation, and how religion is not only a spiritual hunger that we feed from time to time, but the homogeneous chemistry of beliefs and actions that reign over our character, starting with our way of thinking, to how we treat ourselves and others and ends at international relations between nations.
This leads us to the second step of salvation: your actions.
“Whoever comes with a good deed will be rewarded with what is better. And whoever comes with an evil deed, then the evildoers will only be rewarded for what they used to do.”
Quran 28:84

Mercy vs Justice
A belief without action is just an idea.
That seems Hard!
The core belief of Islamic teaching is that Allah is merciful and compassionate and created us to live in His mercy.
You deal with God, our creator who knows how weak and vulnerable we are. Therefore, he forgives us when we sin and fall victim to our desires. Return to him, repent sincerely, make it right again and move forward. In some cases, those sins will be transformed into good deeds, and you will be rewarded for fighting against them and regaining the righteous path.
Against many other beliefs, In Islam, Allah is also pleased with you and your battle to control or rectify your evil thoughts and actions. So don’t let those sins be an excuse to keep you away from God, just be truthful and sincere in your repentance and do not return to them again as possible as you can.
“Excepting the ones on whom your Lord has mercy, and He created them for that.”
Quran 11:119
The Messenger of God (PBUH)
said:
“Every son of Adam is a sinner, and the best of sinners are those who repent.”

Must-know about Salvation in Islam

It’s simple, moral, and intuitive
Considering your love for a sport is your faith, salvation to be attending that favorite team’s championship game:
Getting the tickets is God’s mercy and you can’t attend the game without having it, but the ticket alone is not enough; you have to make a plan, get out of the house, drive and get there on time, then go through the process of getting in the stadium, and that’s actions.
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) says:
“Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His believing servant than a person who loses his riding beast carrying food and drink. He sleeps (being disappointed of its recovery) and then gets up and goes in search for that until he is stricken with thirst. then comes back to the place where he had been before and goes to sleep completely exhausted placing his head upon his hands waiting for death. And when he gets up, a lot there is before him his riding beast and his provisions of food and drink. Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than the recovery of this riding beast along with the provisions (of food and drink).”
